And from Bill Coley's camera...

A moon in search of itself
First up, I recently purchased accessories needed to attach my DSLR camera to my telescope. The limitations of my telescope gear limit me to taking pictures of big bright things such as the moon; but that's not a terrible thing since the moon can be a fun target. This is an image I shot a few days before the moon became full. In general, a full moon is far less interesting through a telescope than is a moon before or after fullness because a full moon has no shadows to highlight differences in lunar terrain. That tends to render the moon's surface as a big bright white spot that displays far less variety than does the moon in this state, for example.
