Archive Entry #94: April 23, 1986

I am not a perfected pacifist by any means, but in And from Bill... columns over the years I certainly have expressed what pacifism I possess.

Consider today’s entry as an example. The U.S. had just bombed Libya and I found cause for pause in the national delight over the military action. To spice up the commentary, I even threw in a Clint Eastwood reference and a gratuitous evaluation of his acting ability (this column predates his directorial debut, I believe).

You may or may not agree with the cautions voiced in today’s piece, but you can’t deny the youthful spunk that led me to write them to my congregation less than ten months into ministry here.

COMING NEXT: From May 1993 comes an entry from Captain Obvious: The Church is more what it does than what it says or how it explains its failure to do. Find it HERE.
