Archive Entry #92: March 21, 2002

Posted on May 22, 2015.

The Pew Research group recently published its latest survey of the American religious landscape; the results were not encouraging. Highlight findings: The percentage of Americans who call themselves Christians has declined from 78% to 70% in the last seven years. The percentage of Americans who call themselves “religiously unaffiliated” increased by seven points to 23% in the same time frame.

The Pew Research results current back in 2002 were much different from what they are today, but today’s Archive entry from March of that year demonstrates that downward trends were clearly in place.
