Archive Entry #89: May 8, 1997

Sometimes current events seem to cry out for the attention of one of my newsletter columns. Such was the case eighteen years ago when in close proximity our nation dealt with the issues of homosexuality and racism.... Gee. The world hasn’t changed much since 1997, has it?

If you think pastor columns ought to stick to spiritual cheerleading, today’s archive entry will not interest you. But then again, if you expect pastor columns will stick to spiritual stuff, you probably don’t know me very well!

COMING NEXT: What better way to follow up on a column that discusses homosexuality than with a column from 1987 that focuses on our national obsession with sex?... Well, there are probably many better ways to follow up today’s entry, but what’s coming is another of my early-years’ efforts to define my newsletter columns as uniquely my own.
