Archive Entry #79: April 19, 2012
A trip to South Dakota where I helped my family celebrate the life of an aunt who was an icon in my life delayed the publication of this entry by three days. Sorry for any inconvenience that delay created.
But I guess the delay could be interpreted as a God thing since one of the entry’s principal examples is the period of time families experience after a funeral and its immediate aftermath, when there is nothing to distract them from the new and very different landscape of their lives.
Such is my case right now as I write this introduction. My aunt’s funeral happened 48 hours ago. I’m back home. I don’t have the company of those out-of-town loved ones. It’s just me and my memories. Thank God, there is hope – in the resurrection and the company of the resurrected one.
May you experience that company today, tomorrow, and forever.
COMING NEXT: From just fifteen months ago comes the first Archive entry of 2014, the last calendar year not yet represented. It’s a column about mobile device video games.... Can’t wait, can you? :-) Find it HERE.
