Archive Entry #77: March 20, 2003

Posted on March 31, 2015.

Today’s entry begins with a reference to my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary at the end of March 2003. Poignantly when read now, it then noted that no one could know what awaited my parents in the future. As it turned out, my mom died unexpectedly just two weeks after this column was published.... We didn’t know what awaited them, indeed.

A few days ago I learned of the death of one of the very few iconic people of life, my aunt in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. So it is with a heavy heart that I encounter this column’s opening tribute to my parents, both of who have moved on to glory.

Sometimes you never know what awaits you.

COMING NEXT: From the Easter season of 2004, and two days before Easter 2015, comes a call for the return of suprise to the news of the resurrection. That still sounds like a good idea to me!
p.s. And by the way, I messed up the labeling of this and the previous Archive entries. Entry #76 was actually from 1997, not 2003 – a mistake I have since fixed. I trust you didn’t lose much sleep over the error. Find it HERE.
