Archive Entry #7: August 20, 1992

Posted on July 29, 2014.

One aspect of my use of the “And from Bill...” space in our newsletter that I have always felt good about has been its variety of literary forms. To be sure, most columns have consisted of a collection of paragraphs. But occasionally through the years I have strayed from that convention – at least in form – in order to make a point.

Several examples of the column’s variety will appear in this archive, starting with today’s entry, which happens also to exemplify another unconventional “And from Bill...” trait: an abrupt and unexpected conclusion.

From August 1992 – coincidentally published on my 35th birthday – here is a conversation with a dead guy... or so you’ll think!

COMING NEXT: Posted to the archive on the eve of our church’s day trip to Great America theme park near Chicago this year, in a July 1992 column come lessons learned from that year’s trip to Gurnee. Find it HERE.
[NOTE: Friday’s column will represent the first of only three occasions – all occurring within the next three and-a-half months – when consecutive archive entries come from the same calendar year.]
