Archive Entry #41: November 18, 2004
A three entry mini-series of archive entries on the subject of Thanksgiving comes to a close with this one from ten years ago.
[NOTE: The "Laurie" referenced in this column was our church secretary at the time of the column's publication.]
Its foci are grace and God things. Grace you know about: Good you don’t deserve. “God things” are divine intrusions into every day life, sometimes mundane, sometimes dramatic expressions of God’s favor.
The most important thing I can tell you about God things connects to the subject of archive entry #17: Whether events are God things in your life depends on your willingness to label events as God things.
I can’t convince you that the phone call that came when you needed it most was a God thing – but you can. I also can’t convince you that without grace your life would be in shambles; but take my word, you’ll be better off if you believe that’s true!
A blessed and connected Thanksgiving to you and yours.
