Archive Entry #34: January 17, 2008

With the midterm elections now just four days away, I offer another in a brief series of columns reflective of my willingness to engage political matters in my column over the years.

This particular column, written near the beginning of the presidential election year of 2008, demonstrates what I call my non-partisan approach to politics, at least in my role as pastor.

I am a very partisanly political person – just not on Sunday mornings or in church newsletters. But that’s not to say I stay away from political matters. As this and the remaining two columns in this short series will show, in my pastor role I try to cast visions of a better politics – yours, mine, and, most important, ours.
