Archive Entry #32: January 20, 2011
My most recent exchange with a fellow member of a theological forum site to which I belong got heated the other day. I don’t know whether the other person felt angry, but I sure did! When I feel angry, my ability to write comes in handy... or not. The vigorous and pointed indictment I sent to that other member over what I received as his terribly bigoted and cynical post must have burned through a few cables in the Internet’s infrastructure!
It was surely a coincidence that the appearance of today’s archive entry on civil discourse forced me to review the propriety of my words to that other member, don’t you think? Surely God wouldn’t use the “coincidental” timing of a newsletter archive piece to hold me accountable.... Yeah, I suppose God would.
Today begins a short series of columns on political matters in tribute to next month’s midterm elections. At the moment, I’m not thinking about politics much....
COMING NEXT: Another in a brief series of columns on matters political, from just before the 1990 midterm elections comes a column starring two of my life story’s highest profile characters: politics and professional wrestling. Find it HERE.
