Archive Entry #30: October 6, 1994
Posted on October 17, 2014.
On October 19, two days after the posting of this archive entry, our church will celebrate its 95th birthday. It provides a measuring stick by which to gauge my tenure as FCCEM pastor to note that I was here for the congregation’s 70th anniversary, will be around on Sunday for #95, and, unless God calls me elsewhere, will be here for our centennial five years from now. Wow.
It seemed a natural, then, that today’s entry be the column I wrote in advance of our 75th anniversary in 1994. Our church and I have changed a lot in the last two decades, but my basic outlook and hopes for our congregation have not.
COMING NEXT: It’s back to the 80's for an April 1988 column about the way we talk to each other... aided by a talking scale. You gotta hear this! Find it HERE.
