I suppose I should call it a guilty pleasure, so much do I enjoy poking fun at and issuing challenges to television evangelists, perhaps especially those who preach what’s called the “prosperity Gospel.”
Since an archive entry has already broached the subject, I offer a simple definition: Give (usually to their ministry!) and you will be blessed. God blesses more abundantly - that is, materially - those who give more abundantly.
The fact that I have addressed this general topic twice in the archive in its first three months should tell you that it’s an issue for me. Today’s archive entry speaks for itself. Ten years have past since this column’s first publication, but today I wouldn’t change a word.
