Archive Entry #22: August 15, 1996

Posted on September 19, 2014.

Today’s is the second consecutive archive entry about change; but this one’s a bit different.

I offer this column 1) as an example of my passionate but neutral response to politics when I’m in my pastoral role; and 2) to offer a candid portrait of my ambivalence about change that was extant as late as 1996, just eighteen months before I attended a workshop on the future of the church whose content fundamentally retooled my attitudes about change.

By the time I wrote this column I had seen the writing on the wall when it came to the necessity of change in the church, but I had yet to become a willing reader. See for yourself....
